This intensive programme covers speaking and listening skills where a learner can advise on or talk about complex or sensitive issues, understand colloquial references, and deal confidently with hostile questions.

Reading skills reach a level where a learner can understand documents, correspondence and reports, including the finer points of complex texts. Writing skills enable a learner to write letters on any subject and full notes of meetings or seminars with good expression and accuracy.

Level 1

Topics Covered

Family and Community Life, Hobbies and Pastimes, Personal Details/Experiences, Holidays and Leisure Activities, Information Technology, Shopping, Careers, Health, Academic Study, Education and Training, Services, Law and Order, Weather and the Environment, Transport.

Reading

Candidates are expected to read and understand straightforward texts of varying length on a variety of topics accurately and independently, reading and obtaining information from different sources such as reports, instructional texts, explanatory texts, and persuasive texts.

Writing

Candidates are expected to be able to write a variety of texts composed for different purposes and different audiences, and reflect those in their choice of lexis, grammar and register.

Level 2

Reading

Candidates are expected to read and understand complex texts of varying length on a variety of topics accurately and independently, including lengthy complex articles and reports, complex instructional texts, persuasive/argumentative texts, technical and specialised texts, and fictional and literary texts.

Writing

Candidates are expected to write to communicate information, ideas and opinions clearly and effectively using length, format and style appropriate to purpose, content and audience in a wide range of documents.

C2

Level 3 (C2) — Near-Native

Proficiency

Candidates are expected to have reached a near-native level of proficiency in English. The candidate is able to understand with ease virtually everything heard or read and is able to summarise from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts and presenting them coherently.

At this level, the candidate is expected to express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, and should be able to differentiate finer shades of meaning even in complex situations. Candidates should demonstrate a mastery of the language and be able to manipulate the language in order to respond to both explicit and implied meanings in a wide variety of contexts and settings.

Cooling-Off Period

You are entitled to a full refund within 7 days of enrolment if you change your mind.

Refund Policy

No refund is available for poor attendance, bad behaviour, changed mind after the cooling-off period, or inability to continue for personal reasons.

Attendance Requirements

  • 80% minimum attendance for structured training sessions
  • 100% attendance required for all assessments

  • Formative and summative assessments throughout the course
  • Assessments are valid, reliable, fair, transparent, and secure
  • One re-assessment opportunity permitted if needed

Student Visa Conditions

  • You must comply with your visa conditions at all times
  • Maximum 20 hours work per week during term time
  • You must attend your course and maintain required attendance
